About CFHTW

DC is a city of beauty and order. I'd like to help it survive.

First things first.

Before anything else — what does CFHTW actually stand for? We're not going to just tell you. Use the Secret Decoder and figure it out yourself. Or submit your own interpretation. We've seen some good ones.

What Is This?

The proposed triumphal arch at Memorial Circle is the project that got this site off the ground — a case study in how the Trump administration cheats by stacking regulatory bodies, ignores planning law, and uses public assets for personal glorification. But the Monumental Grab is just one thread in a much larger pattern of corruption, self-dealing, and institutional abuse that this site intends to help expose.

Why DC's Monumental Core?

Washington was designed as a city of beauty and order. The Lincoln Memorial, the Mall, Arlington Memorial Bridge, the ceremonial corridors connecting them — these are not backdrops. They are the thing itself: a century of deliberate civic design that belongs to everyone. When that design is threatened — by bad proposals, captured commissions, or simple ignorance of what makes these places matter — someone should say so clearly and in detail. That's what this site is for. For now.

Who's Behind This?

I've lived in DC for over 35 years — got tired of watching and decided to start writing.

What's Coming

Continued coverage of the Memorial Circle arch as it moves through federal review. A Corruption Tracker. Broader coverage of Trump administration misconduct wherever it intersects with Washington, its institutions, and the public interest.
